Chinese student kidnapped in Malaysia has been rescued, organs will be harvested if ransom is not paid
On May 5, footage of an 18-year-old Chinese student being kidnapped in Malaysia and being extorted and abused by the kidnappers was exposed. The boy was studying in Singapore. On April 30, he entered Malaysia for unknown reasons and was kidnapped by a group of men.
On May 2, the boy’s parents who were doing business in Dubai received a video from the kidnappers showing that the boy was beaten and strangled. The kidnappers extorted RMB 3.5 million from the boy’s parents, and threatened to kill him and harvest his organs if the ransom was not paid. The boy’s parents did not pay the ransom and rushed to the local police. The police arrested a suspect and rescued the boy within 48 hours. The Malaysian police pointed out that this case may involve transnational kidnapping and fraud, and the police are currently making every effort to arrest the remaining suspects.
