China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperation has further advanced

On the afternoon of June 24, 2025, Premier Li Qiang met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Tianjin, who came to China to attend the Summer Davos Forum.

Li Qiang said that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam. Over the past 75 years, China and Vietnam have always supported each other and worked together. The deep friendship of “comrades and brothers” has become stronger and stronger over time. Since the successful visit of the Chinese President to Vietnam in April, China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperation has further advanced. China is willing to continue to implement the results of the visit with Vietnam, and refine the grand blueprint for the development of China-Vietnam relations drawn up by the top leaders of the two parties into a “construction drawing” for the modernization of the two countries, and transform it into a “real picture” for building a community of shared future for China and Vietnam, bringing more benefits to the people of the two countries.

Li Qiang pointed out that the instability and uncertainty of the current international situation is still increasing. China and Vietnam should unite more closely and strengthen strategic communication and mutually beneficial cooperation, which is not only beneficial to both sides, but also to the region and the world. China is willing to accelerate the alignment of development strategies with Vietnam, hold the 17th meeting of the Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee, implement the cooperation plan for the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative and the “Two Corridors and One Circle” framework, promote China-Vietnam railway connectivity, strengthen market and industry docking, expand cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital economy, green development and other fields, and jointly cultivate and expand new economic momentum. The two sides should strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, education, media, etc., and hold a series of activities for the “China-Vietnam People-to-People Exchange Year”. China welcomes Vietnam to become a BRICS partner country and is willing to work with Vietnam to safeguard free trade and the multilateral trading system, promote an equal and orderly world multipolarization and inclusive economic globalization, and inject more stability and positive energy into world peace and development.

Pham Minh Chinh said that the successful state visit of the Chinese President to Vietnam this year has effectively demonstrated the special friendship of “comrades and brothers” between Vietnam and China and injected strong impetus into the relationship between the two countries. Vietnam is willing to work with China to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties, further strengthen high-level exchanges, enhance political mutual trust, strengthen strategic communication, promote practical cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, connectivity, high technology, defense, etc., and deepen people-to-people exchanges. Vietnam highly appreciates and admires China’s leading the world economic growth with its own high-quality development. Vietnam firmly supports the three major global initiatives proposed by the Chinese President and looks forward to strengthening multilateral cooperation with China, defending multilateralism and safeguarding common interests.
