On August 8, local time, the 57th anniversary celebration of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations was held at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia.
August 8th of each year is “ASEAN Day”. The theme of the 57th “ASEAN Day” is “Connected and Resilient Communities”, focusing on historical milestones and future aspirations such as sustainable development, digital transformation and resilient economy.
It is understood that on August 8, 1967, the “Declaration of the Establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations” (also known as the “Bangkok Declaration”) was signed, officially announcing the establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. ASEAN has played a vital role in promoting economic growth, social progress and cultural development in the region.
