Great Wall Motors starts producing HV hybrid vehicles in Indonesia

Great Wall Motors has started local production of hybrid vehicles (HV) in Indonesia. In mid-September, the assembly line for hybrid vehicles began operating at the sales agent’s West Java plant. The annual production capacity is expected to reach about 7,000 vehicles.

Great Wall Motors will cooperate with British automobile sales agent Inchcape Group and others to sell cars in Indonesia from 2024.

The assembly line is located in the Inchcape Group’s factory. It is said that about 100 employees are involved in production and quality management. The first hybrid “Haval Jolion” small SUV will be produced.

Great Wall Motors also imports complete vehicles from Thailand and other places and sells high-end off-road SUVs.

In the future, discussions will be held to expand the local production models.

Chinese companies have entered the Indonesian market one after another. BYD (BYD) has also entered Indonesia from 2024 and is promoting factory construction to achieve local production.
