Liao Pinhu, vice chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said in Nanning on the 29th that Guangxi has continuously deepened exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN civil aviation and built an efficient and convenient China-ASEAN aviation corridor.
On the same day, the 2024 Western Land-Sea New Corridor Civil Aviation Development Forum was held in Nanning, Guangxi. Hundreds of experts and scholars from China and ASEAN countries attended the meeting to discuss the regional cooperation and development of the civil aviation industry. At the forum, a number of projects such as the framework agreement for the establishment of the Guangxi Civil Aviation Innovation Cooperation Center were signed.
Liao Pinhu introduced at the meeting that at present, Guangxi civil aviation has flights to 27 cities in 14 countries (regions), basically realizing provincial capitals and ASEAN. The recovery momentum of the civil aviation passenger market between Guangxi and ASEAN is obvious, and air cargo has maintained rapid growth. Efforts are being made to build Nanning Airport into an international aviation hub facing ASEAN and even the world.
Xiong Jie, chief pilot of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, said that from January to October this year, the passenger volume on routes from China to Southeast Asia reached 19.619 million. At present, Nanning has opened 15 international all-cargo routes, deeply connecting Guangxi with 7 destinations in 5 ASEAN countries including Thailand. The Civil Aviation Administration of China attaches great importance to international cooperation in the field of general aviation and low-altitude economy, and is willing to deepen cooperation with ASEAN countries, promote mutual recognition of standards, and jointly seize the development opportunities of general aviation and low-altitude economy.
Liu Ke, Director of the Department of Transportation of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said that Guangxi will strengthen the connection with cultural and tourism resources of ASEAN countries, combine route layout with tourism resources, develop “culture + aviation”, “tourism + aviation”, “sports + aviation” and other models, and drive the integrated development of low-altitude tourism industry chain and aviation travel culture.
