Byd is investing $1.3 billion in Indonesia

Today, BYD launched three pure electric models in Indonesia, which means BYD’s overseas expansion is further.

Airlangga Hartarto, Indonesia’s minister of Economic coordination, said at the press conference that BYD will invest $1.3 billion (about 9.373 billion yuan) to build a car factory in Indonesia, with an expected capacity of 150,000 vehicles.

BYD ATTO 3 (Yuan PLUS) is its first “strategic global passenger car”, and the overseas version of BYD ATTO 3 has been delivered in more than 70 countries and regions in Asia Pacific, Europe, the Americas, and Central and East Africa.

The car also won the pure electric vehicle sales champion in Sweden, Singapore, New Zealand, Thailand and other countries, with a cumulative export volume of more than 140,000 units.

In addition, BYD will set up a large production base consisting of three factories with the Brazilian state government of Oia, with a total investment of 3 billion reais (equivalent to about 4.5 billion yuan).
